Yarn: De Rerum Natura Ulysse (sport weight; 100%
merino; 185 m / 202 yds per 50 g ball)

Gauge: 17 sts & 16 rows = 10 cm / 4” over single crochet FLO/BLO pattern using 3 mm hook after blocking.
1 repeat of colourwork motif to measure 7.5 cm / 3” in height after blocking.

Needles: 3 mm / US D/3 crochet hook
2.5 mm crochet hook

Note: There is no direct US conversion for a 2.5 mm hook so if you can’t find this size, work with either a US B/1 or C/2 depending on whether your gauge is loose or tight, and always use a hook size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

Notions: 4 locking stitch markers, 13 (13, 14, 14, 14, 14) buttons (1cm / ½” diameter)

Notes: The cardigan is worked from the top down in a raglan construction with the sleeves worked downwards in rows from the body before seaming the underarms. The ribbing is worked in rows perpendicularly to the selvedge edges. To avoid puckering, work the ribbing to a tight tension when making the button band in particular.
US crochet terminology used throughout.
