When it’s COLD, not just cold but COLD, and the last thing you want to do is get out from under your blankets, these will help. Like cozy flannel blankets for your hands, these plaid mittens use a build as you go construction to create the warmest and most adorable accessories around.

Finished Size One size: 9 ½” from bottom of cuff to tip of top, 7 ½” around palm.

Yarn Knit Picks Preciosa Tonal, 100% Merino Wool; 273yds/100g: Goldfish and Captain, 1 skein each. Mittens are shown in both MC/CC combinations of these colors.

Needles Size 7 (4.5 mm): double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Marker (m); tapestry needle.

Gauge 20 sts and 26 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in Plaid Pattern.

Notes: Mittens are constructed as you go, starting with a piece of plaid fabric. Stitches are picked up in CC and worked in garter stitch to complete wrist, thumb, and top of mitten sections. These mittens are quick knits and two skeins of Preciosa will make 4 pairs so they’ll make great gifts!
