Light & Airy Sexy Hanky Hem Motif Camisole. Perfect for summer layering over a tank top or other sleeveless top. Convenient machine washable contructed in Cotton yarn.

This summery top worked up well in #2 or #3 light weight cotton. Bamboo or silk would also work up very nicely. Not suited for worsted weight textiles as the top turned out too “bulky” & did not drape well. (would work well though for Winter layered with a turtleneck)

Notes on last page for those considering making this camisole with baby yarn, which stretches more that the 100% mercerized cotton & the issues one of the testers encountered, such as the shoulder strap length & width.

Includes Assembly Diagram for different lengths in:

  • Cropped/Bolero Length
  • Camisole/Waist
  • Length Tunic/Hip Length

Additional Sizing Options

  • For smaller or larger sizes, determine your bust/chest measurement, then divide that measurement by 4
  • Visit this site to determine what the “Diagonal” measurement of your motifs will need to measure: http://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculators/geometry-plane/...
  • “q” equals 1/4 of your bust/chest measurement, so you need to determine “a”, which will be the side length for each motif (be sure to select “units” in inches)
  • Example: for a 46 inch bust, your motifs will need to measure 11.5 inches on the diagonal (46 / 4 = 11.5). To achieve this diagonal measurement, your motifs will need to approximately 8.1 inches square. Merely substitute a smaller stitch (sc) for a larger one (dc or tr) or vise versa in rounds that are done entirely in 1 stitch

Additional Materials

  • Tapestry Needle
  • Scissors

Additional Notes on Tunic Length
If you have wider hips, you might want to consider making the bottom 4 motifs with a hook size 1 larger so the bottom motifs are not stretched too wide.
