Here’s a set of patterns in one 5 page PDF for two adorable Hanukkah magnets – a Dreidel and a Present - that can also be used to make appliqués. They’re fun and easy to crochet and work up pretty quickly. You will want to make at least one of each for your own holiday décor and several to give as gifts. By changing the color of the present, you can customize it for any one and any holiday.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

F Crochet Hook for Magnet (see note on gauge)

Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn in Light Blue (Light Periwinkle), Medium Blue (Blue Suede) and Dark Blue (Soft Navy), and Ivory (Aran) - about 10 yards per magnet. I used Red Heart Super Saver in the colors in parenthesis. These are great stash buster projects!

Flexible magnet backing (Magnet)

Craft Glue (Magnet)

Stitch markers (optional)

Tapestry Needle to weave in ends and embroider Dreidel.

SKILL LEVEL: EASY

GAUGE: Gauge is not important for this project. The Present is just slightly over 2.5” by 2.5”. 7 SC and about 5 rows measure just over 2”. The Dreidel is about 2.75” across and about 4” tall, not including the stem. 7 HDC measure about 2“ and 4 rows measure about 1”. Your gauge may differ and you may want to adjust your hook size depending on how you crochet and whether you use a different type of yarn.
