Hanukkah Placemat Crochet Pattern features decorative Menorah motif. Instant download of 8 page PDF with Graph. Works up a little over 12” square. Using an intarsia method, similar to tapestry crochet, you will create the Menorah design. The motif is first worked in rows and then finished with a border worked in rounds around the square motif. WHAT YOU WILL NEED

F Hook (see note on gauge)

Worsted weight yarn in Light Blue (Light Periwinkle), Dark Blue (Soft Navy), Gold (Gold) and Ivory (Aran). I used Red Heart Super Saver in the colors indicated in parenthesis. You will need much less than a full skein of each color: about 50 yards of Light Blue, 30 yards of Dark Blue, 10 yards of Gold and 12 yards of Ivory.

SKILL LEVEL – Some crochet experience is helpful. Patience and concentration is required for the motif, especially. You should know basic stitches, how to change color and how to work in the round. The pattern is not a tutorial, but my instructions are very explicit and, I think, easy to understand, so that as long as you have some experience you should be able to learn the skills necessary to successfully complete the pattern. Should you run into any problems, I am always happy to answer questions from my pattern customers.

GAUGE - Gauge is not critical for this project. For the menorah motif, in the Red Heart super Saver yarn, using an F hook, my gauge was 6 stitches and 7 rows = 2 inches. Your gauge may differ and you may want to adjust your hook size depending on how you crochet and whether you use a different type of yarn.
