Modeled after a traditional Shetland hap shawl, this reversible blanket has a center worked on the diagonal in double-ended crochet with a feather-and-fan border interpreted in traditional crochet.

Yarn: Spud and Chloe Sweater (55% wool, 45% organic cotton; 160 yd 146 m/31⁄2 oz 100 g; ): #7506 toast (CC1), 4 skeins; #7507 moonlight (CC2), 4 skeins; #7511 chipmunk (CC3), 1 skein.
Yarn Weight: #4 - Medium
Hook: Sizes L/11 (8 mm) double-ended crochet hook; J/10 (6 mm) regular crochet hook. Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: 4 st markers (m); yarn needle
Gauge: For 4” × 4” gauge swatch, using L/11 (8 mm) double-ended crochet hook, work first 12 rows of central diagonal square followed by first 11 rows of dec side of diagonal square. BO as for last row—24 rows total.
