This pattern is for my Hapu the Hippo Amigurumi pattern. Amigurumi are mainly single crochet (UK double crochet) stitches, but for this pattern, you will need to know the following:
slip stitch
single crochet
double crochet
Any special stitches used are clearly described in the pattern.

Materials:
worsted weight yarn in 1 or 2 colors (I used Red Heart Super Saver)
stuffing
one pair 10 mm safety eyes (a little smaller or bigger will work too)
E, F or G hook - whichever you normally use for amigurumi (3.25-4.25 mm hook – I use a G, but I crochet fairly tightly.)
Yarn needle to sew pieces together
Gauge is not important to this pattern. Your stitches should be tight enough that the stuffing does not show through.
