These socks are knitted with a texture based on a fishermen’s sweater from a Dutch village , called Maassluis, where they used fish for herring. The picture of fishermen wearing knitted sweaters is seen above and you can find this picture in a book called:
“Nederlandse visserstruien met breipatronen” by H. van der Klift-Tellegen. (Bilt 1983) The book has also been translated in English.
These Socks are designed for my son Bart with feet size 49, but can easily be adjusted to another size.
Suitable for starting sock knitters.

UPDATE: There are two rows missing in the charts. Pattern repeat is 24 rows! Row 18 and 19 should again be a knit and a purl row. In the description it is correctly written.
