This pattern is the product of a contest entry for Knitting Daily’s Cotton Contest. It has been designed to accommodate the stretchiness of cotton with wear, but it can be knit using any non-cotton yarn. The natural tendency of the pattern is to create a vertical accordion effect. This scarf can also be blocked to lay flat, which gives the stripes a textured appearance.
