Pattern has been tested and professionally edited.
Yarn: Fingering weight wool yarn. My samples are shown in Fibre Company Canopy Fingering.
Yarn Requirements:
Main color: approximately 120 yards (110 meters)
Contrast color: approximately 90 yards (83 meters) including pompom.
- This hat is worked in the round from the bottom up (brim to the crown).
- Two charts have been included: the bee or the bird version. Both have the large floral design. Choose one chart per hat.
- Ensure that stranding gauge is the same as Stockinette stitch. A larger needle may be needed for stranded section.
- Instructions for Ladder-back jacquard have been included which provide a smoother finished fabric. If you do not want to work this method of stranding, you may use traditional stranding techniques. Bird hat shown using Ladder-back Jacquard, bee hat shown using traditional methods.
