Reminiscent of summer but knit in a cozy winter wool, this bucket hat features a hemmed brim with a picot edge and a contrasting-color rickrack trim. The pattern begins with a provisional cast-on and is knit in the round in stockinette stitch. The 7-row garter-stitch rickrack trim is knit separately and sewn onto the hat.

Materials:
2 colors of worsted weight yarn. In the example, I used Cascade 220 Superwash (colors 863 & 841). 16” circular needles, size US 7 (4.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge (I am a loose knitter so in the example, I used size 6) and additional needles in the larger size for small-diameter knitting (DPNs, a second circular or a long Magic Loop needle)
.
Measurements: Child-sized: 7.75” from picot brim to top when measured flat. Includes guidelines for sizing up or down.
