Harriet’s Tam was inspired by the heroine, Harriet Vane, in one of my favorite mystery series by Dorothy L. Sayers. You can read more about the construction and story behind the hat here.

Felted Tweed DK by Rowan (50% merino, 25% rayon, 25% alpaca; 191 yds 175 m/ 50 g)
1 (1) skein in Paisley
Or approx 170 (190) yds in sport weight yarn.

One 16” circular needle in size US 2 2.75 mm or size needed to obtain correct gauge
One 24” circular needle in size US 4 3.5 mm or size needed to obtain correct gauge
