I recently added Brown Sheep Company’s Shepherds Shades to my store’s inventory and discovered I LOVE this yarn. My sweet husband Doyle decided he wanted a hat because the yarn is so springy and I designed one for him. He loves it. This is a simple hat pattern, great for a first time hat knitter. I’ve added a very simple chart for knitting in a fair isle part to the hat.

Use 2 balls of Shepherds Shades, one light and one dark. You can use the leftovers to make another hat in reverse coloring.

Using the chart knitting in the round, you might discover that when knitting in the round the pattern doesn’t always work out exactly. Don’t worry about it. You could adjust where your beginning marker is to make the pattern exact, or just leave as is - no one has noticed this on Doyle yet.
