Havenbrook shawl is worked sideways in two colours with alternating sections of garter and exploded seed stitch. Choose from two sizes – the still-generous small, or the luxurious large. The stitch pattern pops with two high-contrast yarns, or choose two similar colours for a more subtle look.

Suggested Yarns: Colour Adventures Dia Sock (75% Merino/25% nylon, 463 yards/423 m per 3.5oz/100 g), small sample shown in Raspberry Chocolate and Mango;
or other fingering weight yarn that blocks well and knits up to a gauge of 20 sts per 4”/10 cm in garter stitch.

Note: the above yarn is now discontinued. I recommend Colour Adventures Merino Light or Tanis Fiber Arts as suitable alternatives.

Sizes and Yardage: Small (Large); MC: 420 (840) yd/384 (768) m; CC: 400 (800) yd/366 (732) m.

Gauge: 20 sts and 36 rows = 4”/10 cm in garter stitch. Gauge is not crucial to this project, but will affect finished size and yardage.

Suggested Needles: US size 5/3.75 mm or size needed to obtain gauge

Finished Dimensions: Wingspan: 70 (91.5)”/178 (232.5) cm;
Depth: 20 (30)”/51 (76) cm.
