Haverfordwest is an eye-catching and extremely versatile blanket. It is as refined as it is comfortable, as much at home in a modern loft as in a beachside cottage, simple enough to show off beautiful hand-painted colorways, but interesting enough to elevate the most basic yarns.

Haverfordwest is completely reversible. Front and back are indistinguishable. My thinking is: for a baby blanket or afghan, you are going to see both sides of the blanket - there’s no avoiding it; so both sides should be beautiful. After all - it’s not much fun to think of spending several dozen hours making a blanket that’s only 50% attractive.

Although the instructions and recommended yarn are for a large throw-sized blanket, simply using a less bulky yarn with smaller needles and/or cutting down the number of vertical repeats yields a timeless heirloom baby blanket.
