Sure, you may say that 2-color brioche stitch cowls have been done… but we say, Never before with an i-cord edging!

So long sloppy little garter edge, and hello sturdy and skillful border that makes your brioche stitches proud!

This is a great pattern for intermediate level knitters with the following skills: Familiarity with two-color brioche stitch knitting is a plus, though not required, as we spell it out in fine detail in the pattern. You must be able to knit in the round, knit an i-cord, and work the knitted cast-on for just a few stitches.

TIPS
I’ve received a couple of queries about how to handle the yarn over at the end of Round 2 of the 2-color brioche stitch pattern. Yeah, it IS tricky. So…

When you bring Y2 over the needle and to the back at the end of Round 2, it’s really not going to stay put as you work the next Round 1. When you get to the end of Round 1, you’ll probably find Y2 hanging off the front of your work. Simply reposition Y2 by laying it over the needle. Then work the final p2tog of Round 1 with your Y1.
