Hazel is a very simple shawl with stripes, short rows and an I-cord bind off to show off your favorite fingering yarn.

Yarn: 2 color version: 2 skeins of Stroll Tonal by Knit Picks (460 yds 420 m per skein), 1 skein in each color or approx. 920 yards 840 meters of fingering weight yarn, 460 yards 420 meters in each color. Sample was knit in the colorways Pond (MC, green), Pearlescent (CC1, cream).

3 color version: same amount of MC and CC1 as in 2 color version plus approx. 120 yards 110 meters of CC2. Sample was knit in Ramble sock yarn by Bohoknits (MC, navy), Sock Yarn by Hedgehogfibers (CC1, Potluck – rainbow speckled color), Stroll Solid sock yarn (CC2, neon pink).

Needles: US 5 3.75 mm circular needle, at least 32” 80 cm long. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Gauge: 18 sts and 36 rows = 4” 10 cm in garter stitch after blocking.
Sizing: Approx. 86 ½” 220 cm wingspan and 21” 53 cm high at the centre.
