A two-colorcheck, the most basic of colorwork patterns, creates a fabric that is spongy and supple. Even though the yarn here incorporates lush fibers with high drape, such as silk, the resultant fabric keeps its shape thanks to the interlocking of the strands of each color. That means you can make an incredibly soft, glowing sweater seamlessly. This is the ultimate sweatshirt—elegant and sophisticated, but still relaxed and luxuriously soft. It’s worked from the bottom up with gentle waist shaping; the seamless yoke is a combination raglan/saddle- shoulder construction for a flattering fit. The V-neck is shaped with steek stitches that are reinforced and cut, while the hemmed neckband is picked up and worked after the rest of the sweater is finished.
