The mist of morning; the cloud passing over a summer sky. Sometimes you just need the lightest and most frivolous of wraps on hand to cover bare necks and shoulders. This delicate mohair and silk shawlette or scarf is simple to make, fully reversible, easy to resize and features a range of delicate mesh fabrics that are absolutely à la mode this summer.

Sizing
This shawl has been designed to fit into one skein of the suggested yarn, producing a small shawlette or scarf. However, if you would like to enlarge the shawl, this is easily done with additional repeats of the stitch patterns, and full instructions are provided on how to do this. The coral coloured sample by tester Vex8 shows the effect that can be achieved with repeats to make a larger shawl.

Yarn choices
My blue sample is in Debbie Bliss Angel. This design was specifically created with silk-mohair mix yarns in mind as the very simple patterns help to avoid the nightmare that is frogging hairy yarns. However this is also beautiful in summery yarns such as silk or linen, although the finished piece will of course have more drape and less loft. A beautiful version in coral-coloured linen was worked by tester Vex8. And there is no reason that other fluffy yarns cannot be used too; testers also used angora mix yarns (see the fabulous gradient version by Ftmhling) and even quiviut. The only real requirement is that you can successfully block the yarn you choose; so choose majority natural fibre yarns unless you are conversant with steam blocking for synthetics.
