Head in the Clouds

A fitted sweater with statement mohair sleeves

Description:
Head in the Clouds is a lightweight, top-down sweater with a fitted body and large, unshaped mohair sleeves. The body is worked in merino wool with clean lines and a simple silhouette, while the sleeves add softness and volume without complex shaping.

You start by working the neckline and shoulder shaping in the round, then separate for the front and back yoke which are knit flat.

The sleeves are created by picking up stitches around the front and back yoke pieces. A few rows are knit back and forth before joining them in the round.

When sleeves are finished stitches are picked up for the rest of the body which is then knit in the round until the desired length is reached.

This construction allows you to try on the sweater as you go and make adjustments to fit and length. Best of all: minimal finishing – just a few ends to weave in when you’re done.
