This striking chunky cowl is a pretty quick and simple knit. Done in the round with chunky yarn, it knits up quickly and is seamless. It’s a great project for going beyond a simple twist cable. (This really isn’t very much harder, I promise!) It was designed as a Valentine gift, but the inspiration for the design came from my favorite book series, Diana Gabeldon’s “Outlander”, which I began reading nearly 18 years ago. Even before the books came to the screen via Starz wonderful original series, I began to design things I thought the characters might wear, but when Terry Dresbach’s costumes appeared on TV in August of 2014, my muse went into overdrive. This cowl reminds me of Diana’s latest book “Written in my Own Heart’s Blood” (or MOBY for short) and I could totally see Claire wearing it as she follows Jamie and the Revolutionary army into battle. PLEASE post your projects! I really want to see them! Enjoy!
