I designed this pattern because I was having a hard time finding a cute pattern for knee high socks that were designed with little girls in mind. My daughter has been asking for knee high socks for over a year, and this year when she asked again I just couldn’t say no. It happened to be a week before her 5th birthday and it happened to be around the same time this yarn arrived at my house. As soon as she saw it, she claimed it and asked for knee high socks with hearts. After a couple doodles and looking through many pattern books she decided on this style of heart. I added a bit of wavy lace to add more interest and away I started knitting.

Foot Length is customizable to child, as is leg width/calf increases. You may add more or fewer increases to fit intended child. You may also start increases sooner or later than directed in pattern depending on fit desired. Sample sock started increases after 2nd heart on leg , increases 2 stitches every 6 rows. Increases stopped just below calf.
