Heartwood Cardigan
We can do hard things. This has been a personal mantra of mine for the past few years. Bad things will happen, we will fall and make mistakes, our hearts will break, and still- we will endure. Like the dense, inner core of an ancient wood, we all possess this inner strength to show up for ourselves- to stand tall in the face of life’s challenges, to adapt. The next time you feel overwhelmed by this thing called life, just remember… We can do hard things.
Heartwood Cardigan is knit from the top-down starting with the back panel. The back panel is knit to the underarm, then the front panels are picked up along the cast on edge and also knit to the underarms. All three panels are then joined together and the body is knit in rows with no waist shaping to the bottom hem. Sleeve stitches are then picked up around the armholes and knit circularly with a gentle taper to the cuff. Cardigan features extra long length in the body to reach past the hips and long cuffs that can be rolled once, or worn flat to reach close to the fingertips.
