Winter came, and I was cold. I took some bulky yarn, and decided to want a super-long crocheted scarf. I finished the scarf, tried it on, and wondered what sort of a hat would go with it.

Nothing worked. Every beanie, beret, and cloche looked clumsy and wrong, and hair made the experience of getting ready to go outside very awkward.

So at two o’clock in the morning, I came up with the Best Idea Ever: add hood.

I know there are plenty of hooded scarf patterns out there. This is my take on the wonderful accessory. It’s a recipe-style pattern, and without instructions on how to crochet flowers to decorate the scarf.

I used bulky yarn and a big hook (8mm/US11). It took three evenings to finish the scarf, flowers and all. This is a super-easy, super-fast project, and I hope it will keep You warm for many winters to come.
