We’re hedging our bets that these adorable mitts will capture the hearts of all who meet them! They are fast becoming our most popular KnitKit!

While we do recommend that you use our smooth Morehouse Merino 2-ply, which shows off patterns and stitches to their best advantage, there’s no stopping you from experimenting and using something similar to create your own set of sweet little hedgies!

This pattern uses:

• 2 skeins of Morehouse Merino 2-ply (sport weight, 225 yards per skein. Double-pointed #3 or #4 needles6 1/2 stitches = 1 inch over stockinette stich pattern; 5 1/2 stitches = 1 inch over “Quill” pattern.

The underside (palm side) of the Hedgehog is knit in stockinette stitch and the back of him uses a “Quill” pattern, which is described in detail on the pattern. Don’t worry it’s not too tough!
