This is a recipe-style pattern for how to knit an easy pair of toe-up socks with a heel and flap that is identical to a “standard” top-down heel flap sock.

This pattern was written with the expectation of 2.25mm - 2.75mm needles and fingering weight sock yarn, but the size chart included lets you change both the finished size and gauge of knitting yarn without too much fuss or bother. It assumes knowledge of basic knitting skills (knitting in the round, magic loop, knit and purl, knit front and back increasing, m1 increasing), and includes directions for the Turkish cast on.

This pattern designed to be very basic in terms of skills required, and is taught as a class at Wabi Sabi in Ottawa, Canada.
