Allow a nice colorway yarn to produce a visually complex scheme of changing color and design in this easy to knit shawl. Step it up by adding some glass beads to enhance the impact even more.

34 rows of lace border, accented by the optional beads, leads into a easy to remember 6 stitch repeat lace pattern in the body. Knit on size #7 needles and using about 600 yds of Fingering weight yarn, this shawl is a fast project to complete. 3 stitch markers are the only other item needed with the exception of glass beads if chosen to do so.

Blocking is a must with wool to bring out the beautiful lace designs and at this gauge the shawl will block to a relaxed 29” by 55”.

Accenting lace knitting with beads is a wonderful way to add a touch of elegance. Adding beads to specific stitches was a challenge to me. Most common method, a crochet hook, just didn’t cut it. So I designed a small tool to accomplish this in a much easier way. It is available at my shop on Etsy---suelillycreations for the cost of $3.50 + .49 shipping.

This pattern is written with a chart only, so please be aware.

As always with shawls and scarves, using different weight yarns and needle sizes will slightly change the appearance and size of the finished piece, but that makes it personal.
