Imagine yourself in the south of France. The beautiful scenery, the sun warming you from above. Sunflowers in the field, which inspired Vincent van Gogh to make his most famous paintings.
The Opal Vincent van Gogh yarn series inspired me to make a design based on sunflowers myself. Wrap yourself in this shawl and feel the warmth like the French sun.

This pattern is a joy to knit. At some rows you’ll need to pay extra attention, but a lot of it is repetitive, so it’s a very relaxing knit with a stunning result.
The example is knitted with noro van gogh yarn, which is now discontinued, but you can use any color you wish as long as it is in the colors of sunflowers. Or you can go crazy and make it a rainbow or any other color you wish.
The size will increase when you use a bigger yarn / larger needles. Gauge is not very important, just use yarn and the needles you like to get the gauge that looks good. The pattern does not have a built in option to enlarge the shawl.
For the center of this shawl you’ll need aproximately 75 gr. sock yarn. For the outside part aproximately 50 gr.
