WHAT IS IN A CORE OF A STAR?

Helium is an exploration hat.

Hat construction involves creative fusion of brioche and garter ridges. Brim is a two-color brioche and followed by a garter ridges with a twist. To relieve too much tension created by the sudden decreases in the crown shaping to form the star just like a nuclear fusion, a creative combination of knit and purl were introduced.

There are two versions included in the pattern depending on how you would like your star look. But both versions are equally beautiful and explorative.

a. Version 1 is a pretty straightforward version. Easier and uses less yarn.
b. Version 2 includes I-Cord bind off to accentuate the star that makes it even lovelier.

Instruction is written with Main Color (MC) or Contrast Color (CC) but feel free to change colors along the way may be tonal, neutral variegated or speckled. Also, rounds are itemized from brim to final round so you can easily refer back to your knitting and pattern. But always remember to count a stitch and its yarn over as only one stitch.

Hat is divided into six sections. If you want to add additional inch to the hat, one suggestion is to increase one more repeat in sections 1, 3, 4 and 5. You can personalize your hat according to your liking.

Two-color brioche is quite intimidating at first but it is so much fun to do and designs are beyond limitless.

Enjoy and Happy Knitting!
