Helius a wool hat

HELIUS (or Helios) was the Titan god of the sun. He was also the guardian of oaths and the god of the gift of sight. Helios was described as a handsome god crowned with the shining aureole of the Sun, who drove the chariot of the sun across the sky each day to earth-circling Oceanus and through the world-ocean returned to the East at night. Helius is a simple Tapestry Crochet hat with lots of character.

This hat is an addition to my gods, goddesses and titans series that honors our human existence. Helius crown was the inspiration for this hat, as I seek to express it with Tapestry Crochet. You can adjust the size of the hat by using different hook sizes and or yarn.

This hat comes in 3 sizes:

(S)mall 128 sts about 19”, (M)edium 144 sts about 22”, (L)arge 160 sts about 24“

These hats have negative ease of about 1 to 1.5 inches, depending on your tension.

Materials:

Brand: Wollemeise Twin , Fingering weight yarn , (2 colors) Color CA is about 250 to 350 yards, CB is about 125 to 200 yards. Hat in Main picture at 144 sts , CA is 75 gms and 255 yards, CB is 41 gms and 138 yards.

You may use any fingering weight yarn with similar wool/nylon or wool/polyamide blend.

This pattern may have floats (last Picture) as you carry the yarn not being used, or you may encase the yarn not in use within the sts, as you crochet along.

This is a fun hat, I hope you have fun making it as much as I did designing it.
