Light and shadow intertwine in a mesmerizing dance of contrasts. Surfaces seem to fuse. Curves guide the eye upwards, offering captivating geometry, shapes, and visual effects.
Spiral stairs have a sculptural quality that I find especially fascinating, merging abstraction and utility. The helical shape creates a dynamic and flowing form that draws me in.
The Hélixis cowl draws its inspiration from spiral staircases, their abstract forms, and their movement. Hélixis features an all-over lace pattern that is aesthetically pleasing and sculptural. It combines twisted and purled stitches that rhythmically climb up the cowl.
Let us pause to appreciate the beauty of this dance, and find inspiration in the ever-changing interplay of light, shadow, and sculptural form.

The cowl name is derived from “hélicoïdal”, French for helix.

For best effect, use a round yarn with good stitch definition. Yarn weights ranging from Fingering to Worsted would be suitable. As for colorways, I would recommend solid or semi-solid yarns, or a single skein gradient.

Do you like the Hélixis cowl? You might like those patterns too: The Poppy Path cowl, and the Eifel Oak cowl. For endless fun with rhythmic textured lace! Check them out!
