On the heels of my other Doctor Who inspired sock patterns (Rescue Me, Chin Boy, and Show Me the Stars, Socks For Ten, Spoilers Socks, Come Along Pond Socks, Soufflé Girl Socks, + Nice to Meet You Rose Socks), I am super excited to have collaborated with Julia of Pandia’s Jewels on the 2nd edition of the Doctor Who Companions Sock Club. The second pattern is inspired by the New Who companion Captain Jack Harkness.

This pattern has an intriguing cable that has 4 bars that signify captain’s epaulettes for Jack’s rank as Captain as well as a cable invoking the feeling of time travel.

“I swear to you: If your duty is to protect the state above and beyond any other authority, then the one person you need right now is Jack Harkness.”

I was just saying “hello”! Happy Knitting!

These socks are knit using the magic loop method (although the purchaser could easily adapt it for two circulars or double points).

Judy’s Magic Cast On and Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off are used in this pattern.

The knitter needs to be comfortable with the following techniques: knit, purl, ktbl, k2tog, p2tog, ssk, PFB, M1R, M1L, cables, and w+t (short rows). Instructions for all these techniques are included in the pattern. In addition, a video tutorial for the shadow wrap technique of W+T for short rows has been recorded by the designer.

This pattern includes instructions in both written and chart forms for 56 stitch, 64 stitch, and 72 stitch socks.

I’d like to express my immense gratitude to the creators of Doctor Who for their entertaining work. This design would never have been possible without their inspiration.

Huge thanks to my amazing test knitters: Andrea (angeiship), Ashleah (a1dawen), Barb (outallday), Cristy (cristyray), Susan (clucks), and Tracy (phoenixfire). ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
