There is a special kind of joy when winter is finally here and it is cold enough to wear that beautiful scarf that you spent all those hours knitting. You wrap it around your neck, feeling grateful for its warmth. The colour and feel of it make you happy and there is an amazing sense of satisfaction that you made this wonderful thing. (And nobody even notices the mistake in row 42… it’s your little secret)

That feeling of joy was the inspiration for these little ornaments. They are a perfect way to use up some fingering yarn. A simple pattern knit in 2 pieces in stockinette stitch with just a little bit of seaming and intarsia. A final knot at the end bundles them up perfectly.

Great to hang from the Christmas tree. Or if you are giving a hand knit scarf as a gift to a friend, knit up a little one of these ornaments in the same colour as the scarf.. a little miniature of your friend to decorate the package.
