Love micro-stripes, but not keen on the ‘jump’ you get when you swap colours? The Helter Skelter socks use a simple helical (helix) knitting method to create a seamless, no jog fabric. Using my Short ‘n Sweet short row heel and a standard round toe, they’re a cinch to knit, and the striping effect is always lovely. Experiment with two solid colours, or opt for combinations of solid and variegated. Let your imagination run wild!

The pattern is written for magic loop and two needles, but can be easily adapted for double-pointed needles (dpns). Instructions are given in three sizes using 2mm (US: 0) needles, but you can change them to suit your own size and gauge.
