Last year, I designed a pattern for an adorable 6-legged octopus (a HEXAPUS). The legs were crocheted separately from the body and then sewn on. After making about a dozen of these cute creatures, I adapted the pattern to make the legs as I go and eliminate all the tedious sewing. I also decided to make this version with 8 legs (though I do include notes for making him with 6, if you prefer.)

Henry’s Cousin is fully adaptable to any yarn weight and any size (notes and recommendations are included).

He is crocheted all in one piece from the top-down, working the legs as you go and then finishing with a center mouth hole. He is stuffed with polyfil or the filling of your choice.

Please note: This pattern is written in US terminology.

2 buttons for eyes (or eyes of your choice)
