Pattern Description from Cast On, August-October 2009: “When we get a new family member, by marriage or by birth, the tradition has been to make a one-of-a-kind stocking for that person in time for their first Christmas. I love making Fair Isle Christmas socks and thought that an oversized one would make a great stocking. This one was designed for our newest nephew, a big-cheeked bundle of joy names Henry. It has simple Fair Isle motifs and the short row, garter stitch heel and the Stockinette toe are worked with stripes of the contrasting colors.”
