This is a fun knitting pattern to create a felted hedgehog stuffed animal.

This is for an intermediate knitter. The pattern uses short rows, increases (M1 or kfb), decreases (SSK, K2tog), knitting in the round on DPNs, and knitting with two strands of yarn held together.

The finished size will always vary due to gauge, yarn, and amount of felting, but with the suggested yarn and gauge the object will be about 6 inches long and 4 inches tall.

The pattern uses less than one skein of each yarn. You will also need tapestry needles (sharp and blunt); polyfil stuffing; and plastic non-coil safety pins. To add claws and details to the face you will need felting needle and wool roving or feltable yarn in a complimentary color or buttons and small sewing needle.

The pattern includes step-by-step photos and instructions on how to felt, including how to needle-felt details.
