This is a square shawl that was inspired by the lovely knitted Shetland shawls here on Ravelry. I wanted to design a crocheted version because I’ve seen requests for a Shetland-style shawl that is crocheted, but not many exist to my knowledge. All clues are now available on the site. They will be left as-is for one or two more weeks, then will be regrouped into one cohesive pattern (they are currently broken up on the page, interspersed into the story that is written just for the shawl).

The hook sizes listed above are estimation--at the time of this entry, there was no option for a 4.25mm hook, which is what I used. If using a yarn larger than lace weight, go up to a larger hook (i.e., if using sport or baby yarn, use a J, if using worsted go up a lot to about an L).

There are instructions for making a larger shawl on the page. Simply make a larger chain for the center panel according to the calculations.

Warning: Clue #1 is the shortest written clue, but will take the longest out of all 5 to complete.

I will eventually have a chart available…I don’t have a projected time for this, since I need to install and learn a drawing program on the computer. I’m hoping it won’t be too long… ;) (Need hubby’s help! :D )
