I christened these mittens ‘Hermine’ after the ski run in Val Thorens that destroyed my desire to ski. Instead I went and sulked in my room and knitted!

These cute little mittens sat in my knitting basket until yesterday when I realised I was 80% of the way through and had far too many works in progress.

I was pretty new to knitting when I made them so I’m sure they could be improved, but I think they’re just about cute enough to share with the world. Hope you enjoy!

UPDATE:
When casting off the top of the mitten and the thumb, I forgot to mention that you need to leave a long tail to allow you to stitch up the little gap that casting off with the wrong side facing you will create - only a minor amendment.
