Inspired by the “Hero Ceiling” at Hearst Castle designed by Julia Morgan, and paying homage to the lettering of ancient times, this cowl
begins and ends with an i-cord hem. The lettering is worked using a series of charts and just two colors. ‘What does it say?’ you ask? As far as my research could decipher, it doesn’t say anything specific. Just as well; it’s the beauty of the hand-crafted letter that’s important in this piece.

This project requires knitting knowledge including: i-cord cast on / bind off, knit/purl, working in the round, reading colorwork charts, locked floats, Kitchener, and simple finishing, all on circular needles.
