About the Pattern
Teach yourself brioche knitting with this fun and easy scarf pattern. Beautiful I-cord edging surrounds the scarf on all four sides for a pretty bit of detailing. Instructions are provided for both one colour and two colour brioche versions. Knit one or knit both!

Pattern has been test-knit and tech-edited.

Sizing / Finished Measurements
The pattern is written for one size. Final measurements are 7˝(18 cm) x 72˝ (183 cm) after blocking. For a wider or longer scarf, work extra repeats of the herringbone brioche pattern.

Yarn / Yardage
Approx. 500 yards (457 m) of sport weight yarn for the one colour version, and approx. 250 yards (228 m) of EACH colour for the two colour version. For a longer and wider scarf you will need additional yarn.

One colour ombré version shown in Niagara MCN by The Blue Brick in “Aurora” and the two colour sample was knit with Orange Flower Yarn’s MCS Sport (colour A in “Equilibrium,” and colour B in “Snowflake).

Gauge
20 sts and 22 rows = 4˝ (10 cm) in brioche rib using 3.75 mm needles, after blocking.

Needles
4.0 mm (US 6) and 3.75 mm (US 5) circ. 32˝ (80 cm) needles.

Skill Level
Intermediate. Skills used: I-cord CO, one colour or two colour brioche knitting, basic brioche increases and decreases, and I-cord BO. Links to helpful video tutorials are provided.

Pattern Notes
This scarf begins with an I-cord cast-on. The body of the scarf is knit in either one- or two-colour brioche; instructions are provided for both versions. The scarf is worked until its desired length and then bound-off using and I-cord bind-off.
