Herse, Tochter des Kekrops und der Aglauros, eine der Tauschwestern. Ihr Name bedeutet Tau und wie ihre Schwester Pandrosos (die Alltauende) wurde sie bei den alten Griechen als eine Taugöttin verehrt und mit der Göttin Athene in Zusammenhang gebracht.
Das Tuch enthält verschiedene Strukturen: Der Körper ist im Mittelteil glatt rechtsgestrickt, unterbrochen von Lochmuster- und Perlenreihen, die Herses Verbindung zum Tau symbolisieren. Die Randsegmente sind kraus rechts gestrickt und stehen für die Schwestern Aglauros und Pandrosos. Getrennt werden die Segmente von Lochmusterbögen, die in der Bordüre fortgeführt werden.
Die Bordüre besteht ebenfalls aus zwei Strukturen: Netzmuster am Rand symbolisieren die Felsenhänge der Akropolis. Der Mittelteil besteht aus einem Lochmuster, das einerseits symmetrisch ist, in dieser Symmetrie aber auch das Chaos enthält, das für den Wahnsinn steht, der Herse befallen hat.

1 Strang Fingering Weight Garn, mindestens 365m/100g (ich habe Zauberwiese Merino supertwist genommen)
Stricknadeln Stärke 3,5 mm
Stopfnadel zum Vernähen
Optional: Perlen 4 oder 6 mm: 103 Perlen (Körper) + 156 (Bordüre), sowie dünne Häkelnadel / Zahnseide o.ä. zum Perlen aufziehen

Maschenprobe: 26M x 33R auf 10 x 10 cm, glatt rechts ungewaschen und ungespannt

Endmaße: ca. 133 x 31 cm

Herse, daughter of Cecrops und Aglauros and one of the dew sisters. Her name means „dew“ and like her sister Pandrosos (the All-bedewing) she was worshipped as a dew goddess by the Ancient Greek and was connected to Athena.
The shawl contains different structures: The middle part of the body is knitted in stockinette stitch with rows of eyelets and beads symbolizing the connection between Herse and the dew. The middle is framed by two segments of garter stitch like Herse was accompanied by her two sisters.The different segments are separated by arches of eyelets that can be found in the border, too.
The border is also made up of two structures. The framing mesh pattern symbolizes the rocky slopes of he Acropolis. The middle part is made of an eyelet pattern that is symmetric at the one hand, but on the other hand it contains the chaos symbolizing the madness that dominated Herse in the end.

Optional: Beads 4 or 6 mm: 103 (body) + 156 (border) and a crochet hook / floss to add the beads

Gauge: 26sts x 33rows auf 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm), stockinette stitch unblocked

Measurements: 133 x 31 cm / 52.4 x 12.2 in
