The pattern was born when I was asked to hold a knitting workshop, knitting a sock from the toe up. I found a beautiful stitchpattern that I liked, my Hia was born!

The name Hia comes from the fairytale Bamse. My dear friend Lisa came up with the name after seeing the sock. She saw woods and with her lovely imagination she saw the bad witch lurking between the trees. In the fairytale this witch is called Hia-hia. I loved the name, so Hia it is!

You can knit these socks with basically any fingering weight sockyarn.
