Introducing the Hibiscus Tee! This is a fun lacy floral top with a simple hdc bodice. The floral lace yoke is lovely and light, and pairs beautifully with the flow of the simple bodice.

You should know by now that I’m all about florals. This tee started with the hibiscus lace, and I knew I needed to offset it with a plain bodice, so I fell back on my trusty HDCs. Once I perfected the hibiscus with my Hibiscus sunhat, I knew the tee was sure to follow. And now that the warm weather is here, I’ll be wearing it non-stop!

This tee is a yoke top, so it’s worked up in one piece. If. You’d like the flowers to stand out a bit more, you can use an accent color for just the flower rounds. You can make the tee cropped length, or even make it a dress! There’s tons of variation possible, even with just sleeve length! Summer can get pretty hot, so I kept it short with a cap sleeve, but I’ve included instruction for cap, short, ¾, long, AND BELL sleeves! That’s 5 different sleeve options!

For this top you can use any DK yarn. I used a wool/mulberry silk blend hand dyed by Mountaintop Yarn Co. (245 yards per 100g). I highly recommend this yarn for lightweight tops. I’ve crocheted and knitted with it, and the silk makes it so shiny and bouncy, you’ll never work with anything quite like it!
