Windows to the Soul
With fun cutouts in a lovely wave pattern, this top is sure to be a staple in your fall and winter wardrobes! The simple hdc bodice works up fast, and is form fitted, for every body type! This yoke top blouse works up seamlessly, and the simple body stitches work up nice and fast.
You’ll need 900-1850 yards for the adult version, and 200-700 yards for the children’s, depending on size.
I made the first iteration for this sweater with a 6-weight yarn, it worked up with lots of holes, and the body stitch pattern wasn’t so simple. And the end result wasn’t terribly flattering. This one is MUCH improved! I simplified the body stitches for a more streamlined look, and with a DK yarn, was able to fit 3 rounds of the open window pattern!
As I mentioned, this top is made without seaming. You start with the open windows pattern, and work in continuous rounds thereafter, including the split for the body and arms. I also included instructions for THREE different sleeves in the child size and FIVE different sleeves in the adult versions! From cap sleeves all the way to a long and a bell sleeve!
This lovely sweater comes in child sizes 12m (18”) to 14/16 (34”) and adult sizes Extra Small (30”) to 5XL (60”). You will need a basic understanding of the crochet stitches chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, double treble crochet, and treble treble crochet.
As always you are welcome to reach out if you have any questions about the pattern. Once the pattern is purchased, you may sell your finished items, as long as you give credit to me as the designer.
