Sometimes you need a little project, to lift your spirits and ease you gently through the cold weather of winter into spring…

These socks were knitted using EasyKnits ‘Twinkle’ Yarn (75% Super wash Merino, 20% Nylon and 5% Stellina) in ‘Icicle’ - 100g / 400m.

The simple texture design - a version of ‘basket weave’ stitch, adds just enough interest to a plain sock. The chosen yarn lends itself effortlessly to the sock design - it allows the pattern to ‘shine’ through - helped, of course, by a bit of added sparkle…

This versatile pattern allows you to use your favourite sock yarn; suggested gauge / tension is 8 stitches per inch measured over stocking stitch using 2.75 mm needles.

Foot length is adjustable, and the pattern has been written to fit 8” (20.5 cm) and 8 1/2” (21.5 cm) foot circumference with finished foot lengths of 23.5 cm and 24.5 cm.

This pattern is free and can be found in my Ravelry Store.

I very much hope that you enjoy my latest design. Please don’t forget to post photos of your projects - I’d love to see them :)
