Order the yarn set for the Highlights Wrap at Marianated Yarns!

As for many of us, the year 2021 presented me with some significant challenges, but some beautiful discoveries as well. When Marian of Marianated Yarns showed me the plans for her Countdown to 2022 kit, the vibrant colors of the Kaleidoscope Bright colorway brought the word “highlights” to mind, leading me to think of the better parts of the last year…long-overdue reunions with friends, the reforging of connections with lost family, and a return to creativity. I think the great Elizabeth Zimmermann summed it up best in her words, “Knit on with confidence and hope through all crises”. Here’s to 2022!

This pattern contains both fully charted and written instructions.

Recommended Yarn:
Marianated Yarns Lynnette Minis, 24-color set — 75% superwash merino / 25% nylon — 1,104 yds (1009 m) to 240 g in total — approx. 46 yds (42 m) in each mini. Shown in colorway Kaleidoscope Bright. Sample used approximately 9 g of each 10 g mini.

Marianated Yarns Practicality 75/25, one solid skein (Main Color)— 75% superwash merino / 25% nylon — 463 yds (423 m) to 100 g. Shown in colorway Stone Basin. Sample used approximately 85 g or 394 yds (360 m) of skein.

Sizing:
95” (241 cm) along longest side and 19.5” (50 cm) in width, 24” (61 cm) on bias.

Strongly Blocked Gauge:
22 sts and 32 rows to 4” (10 cm) in both stockinette st and lace pattern.

Needles:
Size US 4 (3.5 mm) and US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needles, 24” (60 cm) length or longer.

PLEASE NOTE: I used US 5 (3.75 mm) and US 6 (4 mm) needles in the sample, but as I tend to knit on the tighter side, the pattern calls for needles one size smaller. Changes in gauge will affect finished size, look of motifs, and amount of yarn used. To meet these dimensions, consider your usual tension and be sure to use the needle size that gives gauge.

Other Materials:
Yarn scale (highly recommended), multiple stitch markers (optional), tapestry needle.

Many thanks to Marian of Marianated Yarns for her support! This pattern was professionally tech-edited by Lisa Beth Houchins of Meanest Mommy Knits.
