For the adult version of this sweater check out Humo Amargo!

After spending most of the winter season snuggled up in my Humo Amargo, I couldn’t help but think how nicely it would translate into a cozy kids’ sweater—the i-cord edging is the perfect trim to add quick toggle loops to, and the addition of pockets (essential for kids who are constantly accumulating random bits and bobs) is simple in this side-to-side construction. The result is akin to comfort food in a handknit: a squishy, easy fit sweater that will keep kiddos snug and warm year-round.

Sizes: Kids sizes 2 (4, 6, 8, 10, 12); finished chest circumference 21 (23, 25, 27, 28, 30)”/53.5 (58.5, 63.5, 68.5, 71, 76) cm

Gauge: 20 sts and 32 rows = 4”/10 cm in garter stitch on largest needles, blocked

Yarn: Approx. 550 (625, 700, 800, 925, 1050) yd/503 (571.5, 640, 731.5, 846, 960) m heavy DK or worsted weight yarn, plus an additional 100 yd/92m fingering weight yarn
If working a gradient sweater, your yardage should be divided among 4 colorways that blend into one another.
