Hillrose is designed to combine the visual interest of lace (not to mention the fun of knitting it!) with a fullness of texture that lends it a more rugged, contemporary look. Although the shawl will be stunning in a single colour, weaving a contrasting yarn allows you to create a splash of colour to complement any outfit, and make the final product your very own.

Knit in DK yarn, the shawl is quick to create, and will weigh pleasantly on your shoulders.

The shawl is reversible, as the two sides provide different colour interplays.

Size

As described, Hillrose measures 71 in (180 cm) in wingspan and 31.5 in (80 cm) in height. However, a different gauge will easily result in a smaller or larger size if preferred.

Construction Notes

Hillrose begins with 4 stitches, and increases from the neck edge towards the edging. The shawl consists of the body worked in the main pattern and the edging.

Materials & Needles

If worked in DK weight yarn of two colours, Hillrose requires 175 g of Colour A and 40 g of Colour B. Here, the shawl is pictured in Rico Design Essentials Cotton DK, in colours Pistachio (A) and Fuschia (B). The shawl is worked with US 5.0 needles. Remember also to pick up at least four stitch markers.
