The Hillsborough Hat is inspired by the historic North Carolina town of colonial Hillsborough. The trio of ruched ruffles and the slouchy shape are a modern nod to the classic colonial mob cap, once a mainstay of every woman’s wardrobe. Knitted from sock yarn, the hat is a perfect light weight for a Southern winter, but could also add a bit of color to a brisk autumn day in a less forgiving climate.
